Daniel Sims joined the NIDC as the Reactor Product Line Manager in December 2023. He oversees the planning and coordination of radioisotope production across DOE IP reactor facilities.
Daniel brings over 16 years of experience in radiation safety and nuclear regulatory compliance. Prior to joining the NIDC, he served in multiple roles across the public and private sectors, including General Manager of a radioactive source manufacturing company, Radiation Safety Officer, and State Radioactive Material Inspector. In these roles, he led operational compliance, managed radioactive materials licensing and transportation, and supported facility readiness for radioactive material use and handling.
Originally from South Carolina, Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics with a concentration in Health Physics from Francis Marion University. He brings a multidisciplinary background that bridges operational expertise with regulatory oversight.
